Negara (Ber)kebajikan?

Hala tuju Political Economy Malaysia - Dari segi tadbir urus-macroeconomy negara atau political economi.

Ekonomi ala Komunisma dah tak wujud lagi!? Economy Socialisma dah jadi "state capitalism"?
Bila Karl Marx. Frederik Engels & gang come up with that idea - communism, depa tak foresee the development of Corporatocracy? antara nya

1. Corporate dah jadi supra-national entity
2. Pemilikan Corporate melalui saham & pasaran saham.
3. Pasaran saham terbuka kepada all semua - individul, kumpulan, syarikat atau negara.
4. Undang2 Corporate dah banyak berubah terutama nya dengan penerimaan idea/konsep "personhood of corporations".

Adakah Marx nampak perkebangan ini πŸ‘†πŸΌapabila dia jadi board member dalam East India House - the british think tank group (setelah British ambil alih EIC (East India Company), the precursor to Chatnam House?

1. China - Republic & 1 party totalitarian regime
2. Norway - Raja Berpelembagaan & multi-party, feminine democracy
3. Qatar - Monarki Mutlak

China walaupun poltical ideoloji nya communism - read, one party totalitarian regime.

Goldmans Sachs berbudaya "the ends justify the means" bercampur dengan Greed co-conspirators usaha tersebut jadi mencuri melalui commissions, kickbacks & expensive gifts?

Welfare State - Negara (ber)kebajikan:

My view on 1MDB

to make more investigative journalists to take up & report on this financial-political legal case (esp. in USA.
Boleh *Like* jika ingin ikuti perkembangan seterusnya.
Banyak isi nya dlm inggeris sbb

1) utk tarik juga golongan yg sama yg menentang "tyranny of global / supra national financial capitalists" dari luar negara.

2)sumber berita & video daripada luar negara dlm bahasa inggeris.

WarahmatulLah
Have a blessed day.

DAP perlu pinda perlembagaan nya?

Pohon share/like

Jangan ambil mudah! - - dan lupai perjanjian bersama!

Perlembagaan DAP mungkin sesuai bagi Megeri2 Selat (Straits Settlements). Namun tidak sesuai bagi Negara Persekutuan Malaysia!? Jangan lupa sejarah ...

PKR sec-gen says Umno MPs might cross over.

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic) claims that several Umno parliamentarians have contacted the party about the possibility of defecting.

"We are hoping that there will be more Opposition MPs coming in," he told reporters at the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital here on Friday (May 11) where many had gathered over a now-debunked rumour that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be released from prison.

"I am in touch with several Umno MPs from many states who have expressed their interest in joining Keadilan and Pakatan Harapan as well.

"We now have 113 MPs and I am quite confident it will increase," he said.

When questioned, he said it was the Opposition MPs who approached PKR and not the other way round.

"Quite a number of them actually, you'd be surprised. I am not going to mention the numbers now," he said.

PAS proposes Muslim-led unity government in Perak

Abdul Hadi Awang proposes an all-party government to break a state assembly stalemate.
PETALING JAYA: PAS has proposed a “unity government” of all parties that won seats in Perak’s state assembly, in order to break a stalemate after Wednesday’s general election.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said under such an arrangement, there would be no opposition parties in the Perak assembly.
The menteri besar and the majority of the Executive Council must be Muslims, he said.
“PAS offers to form a unity government (government without opposition) that consists of all political parties (PAS, Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional) with the condition that the unity government is led by a Muslim agreed to by the majority of the Muslim assemblymen,” he said.
He said the party’s central committee decided on the offer at a special meeting today.
Pakatan Harapan is two seats short of a majority in the 59-member assembly. Barisan Nasional secured 27 seats and PAS three.
In Kedah, PH vice-president Mukhriz Mahathir was sworn-in as menteri besar today, as the head of a minority government. PH holds 18 seats in the 36-member legislature, PAS 15 and BN 3.

ALiRAN : Power to the People

Aliran congratulates Pakatan Harapan (PH) on winning the general election. The unthinkable has happened. The myth of the invincible Barisan Nasional (BN) has been shattered. A corrupt regime has finally been brought to an end. It is a proud moment in history for all Malaysians.
Aliran salutes the people of Malaysia who rose up, braved the odds stacked against them and used their vote to make this happen. We salute too the many women and men who worked (many of them for decades) in bringing about the awareness necessary for this change to take place.
The outcome of the general election is a testament to the power of the people to bring about change. Around the world, Malaysia has set a good example – that of People Power and that of a peaceful transition of government.
We have witnessed a hope come to fruition. We must continue to expand and consolidate the autonomous public space outside the control of the state, the government, political parties and private business, and which is in the hands of civil society itself. So now another phase and type of work begins.
PH has a huge task ahead. Not only does it have to put into place a new government quickly, it has to put into motion the promises from the PH manifesto. PH has to work towards undoing the many wrongs (which have accumulated over decades) of the previous government. It is a task that will take time and effort. It will not be easy but PH must remain united, persevere and be guided by the rule of law.
We have seen how power corrupts and so it is essential that the change the people voted for must be nurtured and the democracy fought for, guarded well. For this, PH cannot afford to become complacent with the power it now has. Instead, it must use the power entrusted to it to adhere to the promises it has have made.
Equally important is that PH must work towards dismantling the many structures which have kept the corrupt in power for so long. This also entails, among other things, curbing the power of the executive and the restoration of other institutions badly tainted by political interference.
There should also be a move towards greater autonomy for the various states especially Sabah and Sarawak in terms of jurisdictions, revenue collection and control of the civil service.
In this regard, we call upon the new PH federal government to restore local government elections. Decentralisation and elected local governments allow for greater initiative and participation by local communities, thereby unleashing greater energy at the state and local levels.
The people must remain vigilant and support and encourage PH to make these changes for the good of the country.
As we move onwards into a new era, Aliran will continue to pledge its support for good governance and democracy in Malaysia.

PH names its GE14 dream team - Che Det named Sr (Party) Minister (?) or Council of (Party) Elders(?) ?

PH names its GE14 dream team
Dr Mahathir Mohamad (left) and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail are adviser and chairman respectively of Pakatan Harapan. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Seth Akmal, May 4, 2017.

PAKATAN Harapan has picked its line-up of top officials to lead the coalition in the 14th general election (GE14), with Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail being named adviser and chairman respectively.
By naming its presidential council, the opposition coalition has satisfied a chief demand of civil society and moved to take the sting out of attacks by its critics who say PH is so fractious that it cannot agree on its slate of top leaders.
Sources told The Malaysian Insight that the list of the PH presidential council was finalised at a meeting on Sunday and will be submitted to the Registrar of Societies soon, together with a logo.
The logo, however, has yet to be finalised. PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli posted three logos (right) on his Facebook page but they received a lot of flak from cyberspace for its lack of imagination and creativity.
Dr Mahathir will be adviser to Pakatan Harapan’s presidential council but he will not have executive powers. There is also a provision for another adviser and there is every possibility that this slot will be occupied by Anwar Ibrahim after he completes his jail term and receives a royal pardon.
PKR president and opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah will be the chairman of the council and she will be assisted by three vice-chairmen – Muhyiddin Yassin (Bersatu president), Mohamad Sabu (Amanah president) and Lim Guan Eng (DAP secretary-general).
Saifudin Abdullah will be the coalition’s secretary-general while DAP vice-president M. Kulasegaran is treasurer.
Another PH source told The Malaysian Insight each component party in the coalition will have three reps in the presidential council.
For PKR, they are: Mohamed Azmin Ali, Nurul Izzah Anwar and Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. Amanah will be represented by Salahuddin Ayub, Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and Anuar Tahir while DAP will have Tan Kok Wai, Teresa Kok and Anthony Loke.
Bersatu’s three representatives are Mukhriz Mahathir, Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman and Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh.
Missing from the list of office-bearers is DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang. It remains unclear if Kit Siang will defend his Gelang Patah seat in GE14. He has been a target of attacks by Umno politicians and pro-government bloggers who have tried to portray him as the power behind PH and the man likely to call the shots if PH wrested control of Putrajaya from Barisan Nasional.
This Umno strategy of using Kit Siang as a bogeyman is aimed at planting the idea in the Malay heartland that Malay power will be diminished if BN loses.
Kit Siang’s omission from the presidential council appears to be aimed at killing off the campaign to make him the power broker in PH. – May 4, 2017.

PPBM's devious and dishonest politics

PPBM have been making claims that they have strong support from the rakyat, particularly Malays due to unhappiness on micro-level issues.

High on the list are rising cost of living, GST, students' scholarship, and civil servants budget.

The usual Chinese bashing of Mahathir era campaign will take the form of China FDI to replace DAP bashing. No more bashing of Najib for donating to Chinese schools.

One odd issue is special rights of Malays but to appease DAP, they will likely do it through Perkasa or the latest addition is Bertindak.

The issues are purely sentiment and outright propaganda. The narrative could neither be verified with statistics or survey nor sound argument.

They know Dato Najib's macro-management and policies are excellent and necessary thus difficult to debate. It will ricochet to Mahathir.

So even PPBM Supreme Council member play dumb when seek for engagement.

They rather play up sentiment to stir up emotion and it can get as petty as free range kampong chicken not returning to the coop in their evening.

One PPBM political operator once blurted, "It is not about being factual. We'll lie or fake news to stir sentiment. It is all politics."

Rahman Dahlan was not lying or trying to bodek Najib to accuse opposition of resorting to lying in their political narratives. [Read BN portal here].

Their propagandist claimed support is many and every where, but remain unseen. They will surface near the general election.

The stealth UMNO members, civil servants, military personnel, and the various supporter cum unofficial components of BN will join PPBM struggle for the one and only agenda to topple Dato Najib.

It does not stop there as there will be PAS leaders and supporters doing the same.

What is not visibly seen are likely to be lies. As Mahathir once said, it is not easy to do conspiracy involving many people.

Mahathir reject PAS

More so, Mahathir have openly said PPBM cut ties with PAS.

Sources claimed Muhyiddin and Mukhriz have deviated from their Chairman statement. They are working with PAS grassroot in Kedah and Johor.

They, the two M, are of the view that Pakatan Harapan are not strong. Only DAP is sure. PKR have no political machinery.

The two M felt PPBM has the machinery thus better to work with PAS at grassroot level as Hadi and top PAS leaders lull Najib into complacency.

Like PKR, the two M is thinking of using and riding on PAS dedicated and loyal machinery.

This links with the protest of PPBM leaders in Rembau and several places to leave and close branches.

It is a protest against the treatment by the two M towards Mahathir. Notice they do not criticise and the words of loyalty to Mahathir still openly expressed.

The two M treated Mahathir as a Malay Adviser and not a British adviser, whose advise should be stricly followed.

It is unbelievable for fillial son Mukriz to disobey his father.

Considering Mahathir is working hard to open the path for Mukhriz premiership and lending his influence for him inLangkawi, is it an act or for real?

It could be real because Azizul bin Dato Azumu, the person placed as new Perak Chief is his loyalist (for the time being) though he claimed was appointed by Muhyiddin.

Mahathir is keeping quiet and allowing all the critics to come out in the open. He have been quietly visiting areas to douse the fire.

However, he loves the squabbling as they will be praising and bodek-ing him. Anina did the same but was dropped.

As far as Muhyiddin, his disagreement with Mahathir is beginning to come out in the open.

He confidentially told Mahathir to just advise him but allow himself to decide and run PPBM as President. The old man just smile as a sign of disagreement.
The appointment of Azizul and cronies of Muhyiddin and Mukhriz for the new heads of PPBM Divisions are being questioned.

It did not have Mahathir's endorsement.

Emulating Anwar 916

Muhyiddin do not spend as much time as Mahathir. He spend more time finetuning his Malay tsunami secret strategy. Members are questioning.

The hype of a Malay tsunami in the making could or could not happen. With membership of merely 6,000 in Kedah (or the real figure could be more), PPBM will have to work extra hard to make it happen.

Nevertheless, UMNO will have to be aware and not slackened. [Read the analysis of anonymous Malay blog The Flying Kick here].

Muhyiddin's strategy is to emulate Anwar 916 and executed in concurrence with Mukhriz.

It is to get their people become UMNO candidates and then jump ship after winning the election on UMNO platform and money.

This was a game Mahathir did to seize Sabah from PBS by getting just elected assemblymen to crossover to BN immediately after the state election.

However, it was a tic-for-tac to punish PBS for pulling out of BN to join Tengku Razaleigh-led opposition at just before an earlier General Election.

If the potential candidate - likely to be from among Muhyiddin and Mukhriz former supporters and digruntled UMNO leaders - are not selected, they will do the typical UMNO habit of protesting.

It is all pre-planned to jump before election. The psywar strategy is to create a shock and panic impact on UMNO to cripple their machinery.

Compromised principle

This strategy is being questioned in PPBM as it has cronyism all over. It is a political struggle devoid of any principle.

Muhyiddin has been a VIP for too long and Mukhriz is born elite. Both are over-reliance on their people but may not have the instinct on the ground condition.

They underestimated and assumed PPBM members are generally, as UMNO described, mereka yang kecewa and still UMNO in characteristics.

They may deny money is involved but it is not believable that the two M did not use money.

For crying out loud, even Mahathir is known to pay off grey marginal divisions money to the tune of RM5 million to swing support.

The grey and white makan dedak or get nothing. The price of loyalty to Mahathir.

Disgruntled segment of PPBM members that oppose such plan see it as compromising principle, devious and dishonest, and against their aspirations in joining PPBM.

This was the Perak crossover politics DAP was principally and fought vehemently against.

Ah ... unlikely now.

DAP wants PPBM because Lim Kit Siang believed Mahathir can steal UMNO members votes for PH, thus bring the downfall of BN and the rise of DAP to power.

There is no principle in DAP politics anymore since they associated themselves with Anwar Ibrahim and PAS.

Many political observers are correct to comment in the early formation of PPBM that it is the same UMNO with the same bad habit. They will repeat themselves.

Even the idea for PH that Mahathir propose is a replica of UMNO and BN. Lim Kit Siang is not interested in other brand of politics but that of DAP.

However, one has to be more optimistic. The UMNO being demanded change since 2004 is in UMNO.

While, the langau incests from the past inhibiting UMNO reform are in PPBM, PKR and even DAP and PAN.

PAS reject PPBM?

The plan to hijack will also involve PAS leaders and members. If it is known, will Muhyiddin's political backstabbing be acceptable to PAS leadership?

The current Muktamar is discussing PAS relation with PKR, which refuse to budge on their relations with DAP.

They tried to appease by having PKR Selangor to say they support RUU 355. If PAS severe ties, PKR will be the biggest loser in the next GE.

There is a long shot possibility that Selangor is up in limbo.

PAS believe it can benefit from the current posturing with PPBM, UMNO and PAS.

Their mortal enemy is PAN and DAP. But there is political convenience to trade brickbats with DAP as it strengthen PAS and DAP grassroot supports.

As far as PPBM and PAS, one do not hear strong critics against PPBM at the division and grassroot as compared to PKR.

It is only old quarrels of Mahathir with his Islam liberal inclination versus Hadi and conservative traditional Islam.

Bersatu or split

If Mahathir remain stubborn to oppose working with PAS, two possibilities can happen - Muhyiddin and cronies to join PAS or Mahathir leave PPBM to head PH.

In the later senario, Azmin or Anwar could end up as PM. Anwar stopped blaming forex loss to Mahathir.

However, Mahathir is too cunning to fall for a Taib Mahmud-style trick. The former senario more likely. One can easily guess Mukhriz's decision.

There is also the possibility that PPBM could remain as they are and remain in constant state of flux.

Other parties are unwilling to give their seats to new parties like PAN and PPBM. The motley crue will fight the battle on their own.

The winners will then do horse trading to negotiate for a coalition government.

By then the original struggle of PPBM will wane off and be lost in the politics of the time. Malaysia's failed opposition tend to over-estimate themselves.

As a Chinese proverb reads, "we are living in interesting times" - politically but the public are sick of it.

Microsoft Buys Canonical And Shuts Down Ubuntu Linux OS

From the last couple of years, fossBytes has been actively covering the developments in technology and open source. You might have come across numerous articles telling how badly Microsoft has fallen in love with Linux. The first day of Microsoft Build Developer Conference 2016 looked like another familiar affair when the company announced Bash shell for Windows.

However, the day 2 of Build 2016 came as a surprise and shock to the open source and Linux community. At the event, Microsoft announced that it has bought Canonical,

Earlier this week, when we reported about Ubuntu coming to Windows 10, we didn’t expect this drastic step. Today, we’ve become fully acquainted with Microsoft’s evil plan.

BERSIH - SINGAPORE's VERSION!

Room for improving voting process, campaigning ethics for free and fair elections: MARUAH to ELD

Daniel Goh, Workers’ Party candidate.

Daniel Goh, one of the candidates introduced on Wednesday.

Human rights advocacy group MARUAH has written a letter to Mr Lee Seng Lup, Head of the Elections Department, to call for more stringent requirements on the balloting process, and for clarity on the guidelines for media houses covering the election in the wake of the latest incident where Mr Daniel Goh from the Workers’ Party was questioned about an alleged extramarital affair by publications under the Singapore Press Holding.

The letter, also published on MARUAH’s Facebook page, sought ELD’s clarification on the sealing of ballot boxes, guidelines for re-entry of polling and counting agents, procedures for checking samples of ballots, and called for samples to be provided to help officials decide on unconfirmed ballots.

MARUAH also questioned the new rules of disallowing leaders of a political party from speaking at rallies organised by other parties, calling it “deplorable”.

“There is no plausible reason for the rules on grounds of public order or safety,” said MARUAH. “This rule is a gross violation of Singaporeans’ right to free speech.”

Noting that certain parties have come together to jointly contest in wards, such as the Singapore People’s Party and the Democratic Progressive Party in Bishan Toa Payoh GRC, MARUAH said that this is “unfair to the two opposition parties”.

“While this rule was apparently made for a short-term political purpose, it has long-term implications in that it creates a barrier by administrative fiat to the establishment of coalitions between political parties in Singapore despite the fact that there is no constitutional or statutory basis for doing so.”

MARUAH also questioned ELD’s standards on media houses for what they can publish that can potentially damage candidates, given that there are currently similar guidelines for political parties governing ethical practices.

MARUAH’s letter is appended in full below.  CONTINUE >>
